The first edition of the Brazilian Electoral Bulletin produced by the WBO circulated in February. Since then, there have been 28 editions containing a weekly summary of the main facts related to the 2022 presidential election, in addition to primary opinion polls, news from the Brazilian press, and guest opinion pieces.

“The bulletin has become an important tool for American interlocutors, whether academics, politicians, journalists, or activists, to have a clear view of the Brazilian electoral process, not only through news, research, and analysis but also through the agendas, demands, and views of local civil society,” said Paulo Abrão, executive director of the WBO.

In addition to the Brazilian Electoral Bulletin, the WBO also airs a new edition of the Dialogues for Democracy program every month, in which guests discuss topics relevant to Brazilian politics with simultaneous translation in both Portuguese and English.

The publication is made possible by a partnership between the WBO, Pact for Democracy, the Democracy Observatory, and the Institute for Democracy and Communication Democracy. The institutions seek to jointly “monitor the process of strengthening institutions, public liberties, and respect for the separation of powers and the independence of the Judiciary in Brazil.”
