WBO Participates in High-Level Panel in Defense of Democracy at the UN

WBO Executive Director Paulo Abrão participated in a major official event in defense of democracy this Wednesday, September 24 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The high-level panel "In Defense of Democracy and Against Extremism" was convened by the presidents of Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Uruguay, as well as the Prime Minister of Spain, who attended the first meeting in July in Santiago, Chile. In addition to the heads of state of the convening countries, other international leaders are expected to be present.

The WBO also participated in the first meeting in Santiago, in the space dedicated to civil society organizations fighting for democracy. At the second meeting of these organizations, this Monday, in New York, the International Network for Democratic Thought was launched with the WBO as a founding member.
