Brazil Office Becomes a Founding Member of the New International Network for Democratic Thought

The Brazil Office has become a founding member of the new International Network for Democratic Thought, founded this Monday, September 22 in New York. This network will bring together people and organizations from around the world to promote democratic values through academic research, symposia and conferences, cultural events, debates, and other activities that help integrate the network and contribute to the rigorous production, dissemination, appropriation, and public defense of democratic ideas.
The launch of this new network in New York took place during the Second International Civil Society Meeting. The first meeting of this same group took place in Santiago, Chile, in July 2025 with the presence of representatives of civil society from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain ,and Uruguay, in a parallel event to the summit promoted by Chilean President, Gabriel Boric with his counterparts Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Brazil), Pedro Sánchez (Spain), Gustavo Petro (Colombia), and Yamandú Orsi (Uruguay).
